The Chattahoochee Nature Center is a non-profit organization located on the Chattahoochee River in Roswell. It sits on a beautiful site comprised of 127 acres of native plants and gardens that showcase the beauty of Georgia.  It has a River Boardwalk, Discovery Center, wetland demonstration gardens and woodland trails that are home to over 30 species of wildlife.  During the summer and fall, we offer seasonal canoe trips on the Chattahoochee River.  In addition, we offer educational programs for children and youth, as well as community programs that feature the habitat of the Chattahoochee River Watershed. For 31 years, this facility has continued to grow and reach out to citizens as a place to explore new ideas and expand the awareness of the natural world. The energy of the land is matched by the energy of the people. Children, especially, add a direct honesty and openness to the Center.  Nature Centers are all about children - educating tomorrow’s environmental leaders, teaching critical thinking skills.  The thoughts and dreams of today’s young people become the hope for tomorrow’s environmental future.

Our goal for the youth community: to foster an active awareness and understanding of the ecology of the natural world through interactive, hands-on learning experiences.
