The Chattahoochee Lady Cougars traveled to Cordele, Georgia September 7-8 and captured first place in the inaugural Watermelon Invitational Fast Pitch Softball tournament. The Hooch finished first out of 16 teams, winning the gold bracket championship game 9-2 over the host Crisp County Cougars.

Led by Seniors Jenny Goodman, Meghan Rogers, Hannah Kozsuch, Jessica Williams and Chelsea Lewis, the Cougars made all the big plays in the field and came through with the clutch hits to capture the gold. Pitcher Meghan Whipple hurled all 5 games for the Hooch as they are now 17-4 for the season and are headed to region
