Every Wednesday afternoon, the Alpharetta PAL kids tee off with the Alpharetta High School Raider golf team members and adult volunteer golfers at one of Atlanta’s most pristine golf courses, River Pines.
On Wednesday, October 3rd, Alpharetta PAL and The Raiders are inviting all media outlets to come observe the synergy and enthusiasm that is being fashioned at River Pines Golf Club. We encourage you to bring your golf clubs and, more importantly, your cameras and notepads to participate in a round of golf on the Par 3 course. We will begin at 4:15 pm and will end at 6:00 pm with refreshments.
River Pines Golf Club, located at 4775 Old Alabama Rd. Alpharetta, GA 30022, is hosting the fall PAL golf program. Members of the Alpharetta Raiders Golf Team are paired up with Alpharetta PAL kids to mentor, instruct, and encourage them in the dynamics of golf. Both programs benefit greatly from the mentor/mentored relationship.
The PAL golf program, like other PAL programs, is designed to establish a bond of mutual respect, understanding and trust between the North Fulton youth and the Alpharetta Police and community leaders.
“Golf gives the PAL kids opportunities to learn patience, honesty, and self-control,” stated Alpharetta Fire Lieutenant and golf coach Wesley McCall. “Our golf program is honored to have the students of Alpharetta High School’s golf team to mentor and teach our kids the ins and outs of golf.”
The Alpharetta High School Raiders Golf Team is made up of talented students who compete in a series of golf tournaments year round. The Raiders Golf program success is due to the dedication of the students and support of their world class coaching staff consisting of Steve Sweigart (Varsity Golf), Pete Goggin (JV Golf), and Beth Redden (Girls Golf).
