The Delgado family moved to GA in March of 2004 to pursue a better quality “family life”. Mr. Delgado’s background is Information Technology and after 20 years of “corporate life”, wanted to try something different.

As the summer of 2004 approached, one of the things that they thirst for was a good, healthy smoothie. Coming from California, where “Juice Bars” are abundant, they were spoiled by high-quality, delicious and nutritious smoothies. They tried several juice bars in the Metro Atlanta area but none of them came close to what they were used to, real fresh frozen fruits. The existing juice bars put a lot of ice and sugar on their smoothies, including artificial flavorings and preservatives.

Since Mr. Delgado has always wanted to start a business, he saw that void as an opportunity to bring good honest smoothie into the Metro Atlanta area. He started looking around for a “concept” and a location. He looked into an established franchise called Jamba Juice, a place that they frequent while in California, but they required a lot of initial financial investment, millions of assets and years of experience in the restaurant business.

His research eventually led him to Gainesville, Florida to look at a new concept called “FROOTS”, and meet the new franchisee. FROOTS Franchise, which is based in Hollywood, Florida, offered a fresh concept. It offers both healthy drinks and food items. After spending a day in Gainesville, he went back to Atlanta excited about the prospect. He immediately scheduled an appointment with FROOTS founder and Chief Operating Officer David Lopez. They met in Orlando, Florida. This time he brought my family, so they can try the products and look at the concept. They loved the products!

Finally, he found a concept that offers nutritious drinks and food, a place where he can take his children, and a place where the busy, health-conscious Atlantans can get fast, delicious and nutritious meals.
