The Roswell police department is working a fatality accident that occurred on GA 400 southbound under the Holcomb Bridge road bridge.
At about 1:38P.M., an Alpharetta police unit was running lasar on the southbound side of GA 400 just south of Haines Bridge road. A red Hyundai Santa Fe was clocked at 120mph. Before the unit could start southbound to stop the vehicle it was out of sight. The unit continued southbound a found that the vehicle had hit the bridge support of Holcomb Bridge road.
A witness stated that she was southbound on GA 400 when she noticed a red car coming up behind her at a high rate of speed. She said she swirved to the right to go onto the emergency lane to get out of the way, as she did so, the red car went to the right also. The driver lost control struck the guard rail and became airborne and hit the bridge support broadside. The driver was killed instantly, and the vehicle was split into two pieces.
