The City of Alpharetta announces a joint training exercise between the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety and North Point Mall. On Sunday, July 27th from 5:30am -10:00am Alpharetta and other public safety agencies will be conducting a large scale emergency preparedness drill in partnership with the North Point Mall management team.
Alpharetta Department of Public Safety Director Gary George says “The purpose of this drill is to plan, coordinate and execute a viable emergency response to a simulated major disaster.”
“The valuable experience and insight gained from this exercise will allow us to provide our citizens with the best possible emergency services.” North Point Mall Manager Mr. Nick Nicolosi adds “This exercise is a unique opportunity to work with the City of Alpharetta and our local law enforcement agencies and other responders to gain a level of confidence in our emergency preparedness plan.”
The exercise will include participants from the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety’s Police, SWAT, Fire and Hazmat Units; the Metropolitan Medical Strike Team (MMS); medical Units with the Georgia Defense Force; Georgia Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Marshall Service.
“The City of Alpharetta is proud of the partnership with North Point Mall and is grateful for the opportunity to work with an important member of the Alpharetta business community,” stated George.
