America Recycles Day is nationally recognized on November 15 and in an effort to increase recycling awareness in Roswell, the City will sponsor two unique recycling events: Fluorescent Bulb Recycling and Shred Fest Fall 2007.
Fluorescent Bulb Recycling
The City of Roswell Recycling Center will hold a three day collection event for Fluorescent Bulbs beginning Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18. Roswell Recycling Center customers are invited to bring up to ten (10) 4’ tube bulbs or ten (10) CFL bulbs (or any combination of the two up to 10 bulbs) per vehicle to the Recycling Center at no charge. This special event is a first for the Roswell Recycling Center and is part of their on-going efforts to meet the recycling needs of the residential community. The bulbs collected will be recycled through the Waste Management/Lamp Tracker program.
The Roswell Recycling Center is located at 11570 Maxwell Road, Alpharetta, 30004 and the hours of the event will be Friday and Saturday 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Shred Fest Fall 2007!
The Roswell Recycling Center in partnership with Georgia Document Destruction, Inc is offering its customers a way to dispose of personal and private documents safely. On Saturday, November 17 from 8 a.m. until Noon, customers can bring up to 5 boxes or 200 pounds of documents to be shredded. Georgia Document Destruction, Inc will provide a truck equipped with a video camera so customers can see their papers being shredded inside.
All types of paper is accepted, however, no notebooks or CDs will be accepted. This event is free.
