The SEE-THRU HOUSE™ is all about consumer education,” says Stan A. Garnet who created the exhibit. “Most consumers have no idea about how a house is constructed,” he explains. “This is a great way for homeowners to get some information. That’s why we packed it with well-known pros in their fields,” he adds.
The SEE-THRU HOUSE™ is a cutaway of a home showing how the components in a house work from the inside out including structural integration. The concept is the brainchild of Garnet who also serves as the director of education for We Teach House™ Institute, the education subsidiary of Georgia-based Inspectors Associates, Inc. of which he is CEO. We Teach House™ Institute is dedicated to raising the educational standards in the inspection, real estate, and building industries.
Find out who controls the Housing Industry and sit in on a round table discussion that will take place on Friday September 26th at 4:00 PM at the main stage. Represented will be leaders from the County Inspector Group, the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the American Society of Home Inspectors, the North American Deck and Railing Association, the National Association of Remodellers, and Era Buckhead Realty. You can be part of this discussion and have many questions answered.
On Thursday September 25th at 4:00 PM at the main stage will be a See-Thru House pictorial presentation on things that go wrong with your home and how you can deal with preventing catastrophes.
Visitors at the exhibit will have an opportunity to walk through the open frame house and see what’s between the walls of a typical home, elements hidden behind drywall that are not usually seen unless a homeowner is onsite during new construction, renovating a home, or a problem occurs. “This is a great opportunity for homeowners to look at a house from the inside out,” points out Garnet.
Smart metro Atlanta homeowners can pick the brains of SEE-THRU HOUSE™ pros throughout the four-day show,” notes Garnet, an ASHI-certified and code-certified residential combination inspector. The professionals at the exhibit are all members of Consult-A-Pro™, a referral resource directory. They can also attend subject-specific presentations throughout the show at the SEE-THRU HOUSE™.
“Whether people are do-it-yourselfers or just want to understand how their homes operate, they can see how to do it right at the SEE-THRU HOUSE™,” says Garnet. “Where else can a homeowner consult a pro without a fee?” he muses.
This is a ‘must-stop’ hot spot for anyone who owns a home, is thinking about buying a home, or wants to sell a home. If you ever wondered what’s really going bang, screech, hiss, or bump in the night, this is a chance to find out at the SEE-THRU HOUSE™ exhibit at the Atlanta Home Show, September 25-28, 2008 at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
