New Teachers Report July 28 For Orientation

Published Jul 25, 2008

Approximately 1,100 new Fulton County pre-kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school teachers will gather July 28 – August 1 for the Fulton County School System’s annual New Teacher Orientation. The event is part of the pre-school year festivities to welcome teachers and help them acclimate to their new classrooms, schools and teaching assignments.

Teachers new to Fulton County will report to their home schools for meetings with principals and other staff and get their classrooms ready for the first day of school, August 11. Countywide meetings will take place at various locations during the five-day orientation, allowing teachers to complete personnel paperwork and to meet colleagues from neighboring schools as well as key system administrators, including Superintendent Cindy Loe.

The new teachers represent a variety of academic disciplines, including mathematics, language arts and reading, science, social studies, art, music, career and technical education, health and physical education, world languages, Talented and Gifted (TAG), media specialists, special education, English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) – and others.
