Today the State Ethics Commission revealed an increase in the number of in-house training sessions. The State Ethics Commission’s Educational Outreach Program has suspended training workshop travel as a proactive response to the recent directive for all state agencies to immediately implement expenditure controls in an effort to maintain a balanced State budget. The number of in-house training workshops is increasing in an effort to lessen the impact.
The Commission staff will continue to provide an educational opportunity for candidates, public officials, filing officers, lobbyists, non-candidate campaign committees, and other interested persons to learn more about the Georgia Ethics in Government Act and how it applies to them. These free training workshops are designed to provide the fundamentals of achieving and maintaining compliance with the Ethics in Government Act. Staff will outline requirements, answer related questions, and demonstrate the proper completion of disclosure forms and reports.
In-house training workshops will be held at The State Ethics Commission’s office located at 200 Piedmont Avenue, Suite 1416, West Tower, Atlanta, GA 30334. The site is ADA accessible and if you have questions or require accommodations please contact us. There is not a registration fee to participate in a training workshop, but we ask that you R.S.V.P. so that we can obtain an accurate count for seating and materials.
