Northside students win big at JA Fellows EXPO on Saturday

More than 200 students from public and private schools throughout metro Atlanta and Columbus participated in last week’s JA Fellows Expo and Competition hosted by Junior Achievement of Georgia. The students enjoyed a full day of networking, workshops and competitions, and students from the North Metro Atlanta schools were quite successful, taking home a combined total of $3500 in cash in company and individual competitions! Their company, Sweet Success, took first place in the Best Booth competition and second place in the Best Company competition, at $1000 each.

Sweet Success company member Kevin Shutzberg (not pictured) also won big in the following individual competitions, receiving $500 for each:

This is Kevin’s second consecutive year winning the essay competition. This year’s subject was “How has your JA Fellows’ experience prepared you to succeed and compete in a global economy?” The speech topic was “What does it mean to be a JA Fellow?” The Outstanding Young Business Person category was based on the students who demonstrated outstanding growth in the JA Fellows program.
