North Fulton businesses and residents will be able to recycle computers and other electronic equipment on Saturday, October 18 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Waste Management transfer station in Alpharetta. The facility is located at 11465 Maxwell Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30009.
The following items will be accepted at no charge: computer monitors, microwave ovens, computer CPU’s, stereo’s, laptops, copiers, toaster ovens, printers, video machines, disk drives, VCR’s, floppy drives, camcorders, modems, telephones, test and networking equipment, cameras, CB radios, mouse, record players, CD players, circuit boards, portable radios, typewriters, UPS, battery back up, CD ROMs, fax machines, cell phones, cables, projectors, keyboards, 8 tracks (reel to reel tapes) and scanners.
Televisions, other than console or projection televisions, will be accepted for a $10 per item fee. Residents of the City of Roswell can drop off televisions at the Roswell Recycling Center at no cost.
The following items will not be accepted: console/projection TV’s, refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, freezers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, power equipment, tires, household trash, non-electric equipment and vacuum cleaners
The recycling collection is sponsored by the City of Alpharetta, City of Roswell, Keep Roswell Beautiful, Keep North Fulton Beautiful, Waste Management and Atlanta Recycling Solutions (ARS). ARS will collect recycled equipment with the primary goal of assuring all equipment received is handled in full compliance with any generator-specified requirements regarding asset tag removal, data or hardware destruction, limitation on reuse and other restrictions.
