Bikers “Rev Up” For Babies

Published Oct 10, 2008

Individual riders as well as members of clubs can join to help fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies. In Georgia funds raised by Bikers for Babies supports the Angel Flight II which will transport premature babies to area NICU’s.

According to Ed hale, Bikers for Babies #1 national fundraiser, “When you are at the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies, you really get that the folks there understand it’s for the babies.”

Freddie Arnold, Bikers for Babies Chair in Georgia says, “You can really feel the power when you see and hear all those motorcycles lined up, lots of familiar and new faces, all coming together to show their support. I look forward to sharing this year’s experience with my family and friends again.”

This is a family friendly event geared at raising awareness and funds for the mission of the March of Dimes. There will be lots to do at this year during Bikers for Babies including live entertainment from country music star Adam Hood, loads of vendors for everyone to shop and of course the food will be excellent.

Millions of babies have been saved from death or disability thanks to advances made by March of Dimes-funded scientists. But too many babies are still born prematurely or with birth defects. Every year, thousands of compassionate motorcyclists across the country show they care by taking part in Bikers for Babies, sponsored nationally by Foremost and Farmers Insurance Groups.

Local sponsorship and leadership is provided by: Kroger, Flagstar Bank, Steve Murrin, International Bike Builders Association, and Jason Lee Music. Presenting Media sponsor is Fox 5, and media sponsors include 97.1 The River, AM750 WSB, V-103, 1380 WAOK, US Rider News, Clear Channel Outdoor and Road Rash Magazine.

The March of Dimes is the leading organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
