New Mind Neurofeedback Center in Roswell offers the latest techniques and technology in the field of neurofeedback services, according to Richard Soutar, Ph.D., who operates the center with his wife, Barbara Soutar.
Dr. Soutar says neurofeedback technology “has proven itself effective over the past decade” for individuals with depression, anxiety, ADHD, fibromyalgia, migraines and other disorders.
“There is no part of you that isn’t influenced and regulated by your brain. Unhealthy patterns of brainwave activity can affect not only how well our brains perform but how we feel, how we respond to stress, how our bodies respond to illness and how quickly we’re able to bounce back from upsetting events,” Soutar says. “By exercising our brains so our brainwave activity is shaped into a healthier pattern, people find their symptoms decrease, their mood improves, and their ability to concentrate and sustain their focus and attention improves.”
Soutar is a pioneer in the field of neurofeedback and has published three books on the subject. He has also conducted workshops on neurofeedback at conferences and clinics in the United States and Europe. A former professor of psychology and sociology, he has extensive experience in teaching and training at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Barbara Soutar is a neurofeedback therapist, registered nurse and certified parenting educator. She has worked with professional athletes, trainers, managers, medical practitioners and psychologists to assist them in achieving their performance goals.
