Get Ready - MARTA is on the MOVE!

Published Mar 17, 2008

MARTA has kicked off a comprehensive system reengineering study called MOVE –
which stands for Making Operations Very Efficient.

The 18-month study will assess current operations and recommend changes to improve
overall customer experience. It is designed to determine how MARTA can make
the most of its existing resources to provide the best possible transportation service.
MOVE is a results driven, action-oriented program that will outline near-term
improvements that can be implemented quickly.

While much of the current transportation planning and studying is for projects ten,
twenty and even thirty years out – MOVE will take a look at what can be done today to
make MARTA a better system.

Public outreach will begin in March with a series of forums that are being designed to
maximize the participation of our diverse communities and educate current and potential
customers about the study and its objectives. Most importantly, the sessions will
be interactive so that customers will have the opportunity to provide valuable input that
will help us develop solutions.
